10 questions with….

- Name - Mark Greene
- Nickname - Greenie, The Mutant, although usually just get a look of disappointment from people rather than being called anything in particular.
- Batting Style - Unconventional and unproductive
- Bowling Style - Right Arm Ballistic Missile
- Best/Worst trainer at club - Contrary to allegations made on this website, I am indeed the best trainer in the club, whilst wearing flip flops during nets is looked upon with disdain, in the likely event of cricket becoming predominately a beach sport, I shall it seems, have the last laugh!
Paul Geary has to be the worst trainer purely due to the wholly uninspiring nature of the lad. Its not that the cup isn't half full or half empty, it's that the cups been dropped on the floor and smashed into a thousand fragments!
- Favourite ground to play at - Has to be Wayfarer's! The sun glistening of the trees, the carnival atmosphere, the exotic aromas, the sound of leather on willow…undoubtedly the Cathedral of Cricket!
- Best player played with/against - Eddie Blowers is comfortably the best player I've played with (unless having a paid membership is a criteria!) merely due to his mental attributes. Not many people can come back from being hit for 42 runs in 2 over's!
Peter Jones bowling to me in the nets is the greatest challenged that I have faced. Not mainly due to him being a fantastic bowler, more down to the sheer fear I had of upsetting him by hitting him for a decent shot, which could quite possibly have incited my removal from this earth!
- Most memorable match - New Brighton Second Team are 9 down against Bootle, it’s a thrilling match and New Brighton need about 12 runs to win. Greene walks out to bat like a gladiator in a coliseum, the crowd is quiet but expectant, a deafening hush consumes the ground. Can Greene marshal the side to a famous upset and create a dynasty of success and glory that can be followed for years to come...No he can't! Greene is out first ball and a thousand hearts are broken!
- Funniest moment on a cricket pitch - Brian Fantana running off the pitch screaming for his life as he is chased by a swarm of bee's at Middlewich, quite possibly the defining moment in human history! An Alfred Hitchcock film is believed to be in the making!
- Funniest moment in clubhouse - Not technically in clubhouse but would have to be me being sick down the side of Kenny Johnstone's car (Club President at the time) than endearing myself further to him about 5 seconds later when I put a crack in one of his cars back lights…thus the nickname the Mutant was born! (As he chased me!)
